Amanda Klaiber, DVM
Dr. Klaiber was born in Seoul, South Korea, but spent her childhood running around in the snowy landscape of Minnesota. She moved to Ohio in fourth grade and nearly gave her parents a heart attack when she tried to walk to school in shorts and a t-shirt every day of her first winter here. Dr. Klaiber received her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron, where she graduated with honors from the College of Arts and Sciences. She then spent four long but gratifying years at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2012. Immediately out of school, Dr. Klaiber worked at a small rural clinic in northeast Ohio, learning case management, surgery, and emergency medicine in a trial-by-fire environment. It was here that her first foreign body retrieval — two large, balled-up nitrile gloves from a dog's small intestine — ignited a passion for surgery and changed the trajectory of her career forever.

After working in multiple clinics, Dr. Klaiber helped launch Mason Veterinary and Surgical Center, where she serves as the Medical Director. Dr. Klaiber continues to grow her expertise in both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, and loves educating clients — a passion that likely stems from her year teaching the microbiology lab at the University of Akron.

Outside of the surgical suite, Dr. Klaiber enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She’s a devoted Bengals fan and loves supporting Cincinnati arts. She flexes her creativity by running a puzzle Instagram account and contributing to the Jigsaw Junkie blog as a Puzzle Warehouse ambassador. She is completely smitten with her 16-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Bella. Dr. Klaiber looks forward to continuing to explore Cincinnati and all it has to offer!
